In reprise of one of my previous blog entries during the journey, I’m surprised to see how time flies: It’s the third day already, since I’ve returned from my trip. I’ve unpacked, done laundry, changed tires on my car, met a friend, met with other friends for a business networking night, ran errands and resumed some work. Or to put it differently: I’m reestablishing my routine and try to pick up where I left off. But …. – I have come to realize that I’m not the person I was six weeks ago.

… not really, but I just thought it made for a cool headline
(errr, on second thought: There might have been some funk involved yesterday, when removing my boots that I had been in for 16 hours straight… – eeeeeek!)
Anyway: Another cycle concludes here, I’m back in my backyard of the planet. One and a half months ago I set out to find a new perspective, maybe a new home, make new encounters and experiences. And I have come across most surprising, totally unexpected findings – more of that further below.
Leaving Las Vegas – Preparing for Solitude

I have taken quite a break from my blog. It’s been about two weeks, since I’ve left Vancouver. I have gone back to Nevada to have another desert experience or two. So I booked a motel in Boulder City, a little beyond the city limits of Las Vegas, close to Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Valley of Fire. Especially the latter has given me a tremendous thrill – or actually the opposite of that:
